Corralejo is situated in the north, east and is the busiest holiday resort on the island of Fuerteventura.
Split into two sections, the old town and the new town, Corralejo is also the largest resort and spreads over 3 kilometres.
The old town of Corralejo was originally a small fishing village but over the years the population has grown quite significantly and with a huge amount of tourists visiting the town, the new town was created approximately 10 years ago with numerous hotels and apartments being built to meet the demand.
The town of Corralejo boasts over 11 kilometres of sandy beaches and is also a great place for water sports and kiting. The crystal blue waters are a fantastic place for diving with rock formations and various aquatic sights to be seen.
The harbour is surrounded by bars and restaurants and boat trips to the neighbouring islands of Lanzarote and Los Lobos can easily be taken here.
The main area of nightlife can be found in the ‘Centro Commercial Atlantico’ which hosts a variety of bars, nightclubs and live music.
The newly built ‘Baku Water Park’ is popular with both adults and children and a new theme park has been erected adjacent to the water park making a good day, and night out, for all ages.
A street market is held on both a Friday and Saturday where many a bargain can be found!
Jeep safaris and coach trips can also be taken around the island to enjoy the picturesque inland villages and mountains.
The town is also very ‘child friendly’ with various amusements for children including go-karting, trampolining, arcades and play parks in abundance.
Overall, Corralejo is definitely worth a visit, with beautiful beaches, plenty of water sports, numerous activities for both adults and children and numerous places to eat, drink and enjoy yourselves.
